KUWAIT: Zain announced the continuation of its strategic partnership with the Kuwait Codes initiative in its new season, in collaboration with CODED Academy — the first coding academy in the Middle East. This initiative is one of the most prominent of its kind and is supported by Zain for the fourth year in a row, as part of its efforts to help prepare the next generation of digital future leaders in Kuwait.
The announcement came during a press conference held at the Kuwait University Cultural Center in Shadadiya, attended by Faisal Al-Duwaihees from Zain Kuwait’s Corporate Affairs and Relations Division; Ahmed Marafi, Co-founder and CEO of CODED Academy; as well as Zain and CODED officials, and representatives of sponsors and supporters.
During the conference, Faisal Al-Duwaihees said: “Today, we continue the strategic partnership between Zain and Kuwait’s leading coding initiative — ‘Kuwait Codes’ — in its new season. Zain has been an integral part of this success story throughout previous seasons, and we are proud to have contributed to empowering and training over 3,500 young Kuwaiti coders, whom we hope to see as the future digital leaders of Kuwait.”

He added: “This support is an essential part of our corporate sustainability strategy, which includes numerous programs dedicated to developing the youth and education sectors. We carefully select these programs to ensure their objectives align with ours, as developing programming and digital skills among youth is a top priority for us. We are keen to contribute to delivering a new generation of capable local talents ready to lead the upcoming stage filled with challenges.”
Al-Duwaihees also stated: “At Zain, we take pride in being part of CODED Academy’s success story by supporting many of their outstanding training programs, such as ‘Kuwait Codes,’ ‘Academy X,’ and the ‘Kuwait Hackathon.’ We look forward to another successful and fruitful season and are excited to see the creativity of young Kuwaitis. We wish our colleagues at CODED continued success in their journey toward enabling innovation and creativity in the tech community.”
During the conference, Ahmed Marafi said: “At CODED Academy, we are proud of our strategic partnership with Zain in the fifth edition of the ‘Kuwait Codes’ initiative, which has succeeded in training thousands of Kuwaiti students free of charge over the past years in high-demand tech and programming fields both locally and globally.” He added: “This partnership contributes to equipping youth with the necessary skills to compete on local and international levels. Through this collaboration, we aim to offer training opportunities that enable students to apply their skills practically and open new doors for them in the digital job market.”
Marafi concluded by saying: “At CODED, we extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Zain for their unlimited support. We highly value their efforts in empowering Kuwaiti youth with future skills and always look forward to continuing this fruitful partnership that contributes to enhancing innovation and technological advancement in Kuwait.” The Kuwait Codes initiative aims to train high school and ninth-grade students in technology in a simple yet professional way across various fields.
This year, it seeks to train 1,000 students in diverse technical areas that are in high demand both locally and globally, through a curriculum delivered by top instructors in a unique and enjoyable training environment. The initiative offers innovative, easily accessible programs that build participants’ technical skills, inspire their ambition, and provide them with opportunities to excel and represent Kuwait as tech ambassadors.
CODED Academy is committed to preparing them for the future by developing their abilities, supporting them with opportunities, and connecting them to a strong community of ambitious youth. The initiative focuses on developing technical skills in several key areas, including app development, web development, cybersecurity, Python programming and data science and artificial intelligence.
