KUWAIT: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Oil held discussions on Monday with a delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sectors as part of efforts to strengthen ties between the two nations. In a press statement, the ministry said the meeting explored ways to advance joint collaboration, develop energy projects, and facilitate the exchange of expertise between Kuwait and Iraq. Discussions also emphasized the importance of leveraging available technical and technological capabilities to support sustainable development initiatives in the oil sector, thereby serving shared interests.
Both sides underscored the need to reinforce bilateral relations in the oil industry, highlighting the importance of ongoing technical dialogue and joint coordination to address challenges facing the sector. Additionally, they discussed the establishment of future projects aimed at fostering economic integration, ensuring energy security and promoting stability in the regional oil market.
The Kuwaiti delegation was led by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil Sheikh Dr Nimr Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah, with the participation of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation’s Managing Director for Planning and Finance Bader Al-Attar. Representing Iraq, the delegation was headed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Kuwait, Al-Manhal Al-Safi, and included Hamza Abdul-Baqi, Director General of the South Oil and Gas Company. — KUNA
