New ID procedure for individuals with revoked nationalities

KUWAIT: The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) on Thursday announced the procedure for issuing civil ID cards to individuals whose Kuwaiti nationality has been revoked, in accordance with Article 8 of the Kuwaiti Nationality Law. In a statement posted on its official Twitter account, PACI clarified that notifications for the payment of civil ID issuance fees will be sent through the “My Identity” application and the unified government electronic services platform, “Sahel.” It added that payments can be made via the “Sahel” app or the authority’s official website, paci.gov.kw.

Once the new civil ID is ready, a notification will be sent through both the “My Identity” and “Sahel” applications. PACI urged individuals to return their old civil ID cards by depositing them in the designated collection devices before collecting the new ones. The authority further noted that if the old civil ID was submitted to the General Directorate of Nationality and Travel Documents, individuals must retrieve it from the same department before proceeding to PACI for the issuance of the new card. It emphasized that applicants can track the status of their card through PACI’s official website without the need for an in-person visit. — KUNA
