KRCS mobilizes 100 volunteers to assist worshippers

KUWAIT: Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Ambassador Khaled Al-Mughamis announced on Thursday that 100 male and female volunteers will participate in organizing Qiyam prayers and providing essential services to worshippers at the Grand Mosque during the last ten days of Ramadan. Speaking to KUNA, Al-Mughamis emphasized that this initiative aligns with KRCS’ humanitarian mission to serve those in need.

He underscored the vital role of volunteerism in fostering national belonging and contributing to societal development. The volunteers have been strategically stationed both inside and outside the Grand Mosque, equipped with first aid kits containing essential medical supplies and pain relievers to address on-site medical concerns. In cases of emergencies, volunteers will facilitate the transfer of individuals to nearby clinics for further treatment.

Al-Mughamis highlighted the volunteers’ role in assisting worshippers, particularly the elderly and people with special needs, reaffirming KRCS’ annual commitment to supporting worshippers during the sacred final days of Ramadan. This initiative is carried out in coordination with the Grand Mosque administration and relevant state entities. To ensure efficient service, volunteers were provided with guidebooks and attended a refresher course on first aid, equipping them with the necessary knowledge to offer humanitarian assistance to worshippers. — KUNA
