KUWAIT: Kuwait’s Meteorological Department has announced that the country is currently affected by an extension of a surface depression, which is expected to deepen gradually in conjunction with another depression in the upper atmosphere. This will lead to increasing cloud cover starting Wednesday evening, accompanied by chances of light, scattered rainfall. Director of the Meteorological Department, Dharar Al-Ali, told KUNA that rainfall is expected to continue intermittently until Saturday evening, with varying intensity ranging from light to moderate. Some areas may experience heavy and thundery showers at times.
Al-Ali noted that the peak of the rainfall is anticipated between Friday afternoon and Saturday. Additionally, active southerly winds on Thursday and Friday may cause dust storms, reducing horizontal visibility, particularly in open areas, and leading to high sea waves. Weather conditions are expected to gradually improve from midnight on Saturday, as cloud cover decreases and rain chances diminish. However, fog formation is likely in some areas, particularly coastal regions, on Sunday morning. —KUNA
