Makin Club enhances psychological support for cancer patients

KUWAIT: Dr Iman Al-Shammari, Secretary of the National Cancer Awareness Campaign (CAN) and President of the Makin Club for Psychological Support of Cancer Patients, affirmed the club’s commitment to implementing a range of monthly activities aimed at supporting cancer patients and survivors. These initiatives are executed within a well-structured strategy by a highly trained and dedicated team, offering impactful awareness and recreational programs.

In line with the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, known for its generosity and blessings, Makin Club recently hosted a religious lecture at its headquarters in Qadisiyah, located within the Kuwait Society for Preventing Smoking and Cancer. The event provided an opportunity for club members to engage with cancer survivors in a spiritually uplifting environment, fostering psychological and social support among attendees.

Recognizing Ramadan as a time of giving, Makin Club took the initiative to distribute healthy Qirqaian and gifts to cancer patients at the National Bank of Kuwait Specialized Hospital. This thoughtful gesture aimed to bring joy to patients, particularly children, by allowing them to partake in the festive atmosphere. Such activities play a crucial role in boosting their morale, enhancing their emotional well-being, and encouraging a positive outlook on their treatment journey.

As part of its continuous efforts to improve the quality of life for cancer patients, Makin Club has invited survivors to join its programs and benefit from its psychological support services. Those interested can contact 65070469 for assistance. Furthermore, the club has announced an upcoming recreational trip to Failaka Island on Thursday, April 3, 2025. This initiative seeks to offer patients a much-needed break from medical treatments, allowing them to enjoy moments of relaxation and joy in a supportive and uplifting environment. Makin Club remains steadfast in its mission to provide meaningful psychological support—because emotional well-being truly makes a difference.
