KUWAIT: Minister of Public Works Dr Noura Al-Mashaan affirmed the ongoing implementation of comprehensive road maintenance in Abdullah Al-Mubarak as part of new contracts for major highway and internal road rehabilitation. These contracts encompass 18 extensive maintenance projects across the country’s six governorates. In a press statement on Sunday, Dr Al-Mashaan emphasized that the works in Abdullah Al-Mubarak are progressing in accordance with a structured plan, prioritizing the most affected areas before addressing less impacted sections. She underscored the ministry’s commitment to ensuring high-quality execution and adherence to international standards.

Meanwhile, Deputy Supervisor of Maintenance Works Engineer Abdullah Al-Mutairi confirmed that the current phase involves scraping and applying the second layer (Type 2) of asphalt ahead of the final surface layer. He noted that maintenance is underway between blocks 1 and 3, adhering to a predetermined schedule. Al-Mutairi further stated that scraping work is in progress between blocks 1 and 2, while civil infrastructure upgrades are ongoing in block 8. He added that rainwater drainage systems in blocks 8 and 9 have been completed, paving the way for subsequent asphalt work in the area. — KUNA
