Indian Doctors Forum (IDF) Kuwait is a premier socio-cultural association of Indian doctors in Kuwait. The Forum commemorated the release of 20th edition of its annual health guide – ‘Smart Health’ followed by the annual cultural extravaganza - Docfest 2025 ‘Yeh Mera India’ at Hotel Regency on February 21, 2025.
The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest of the event Dr Ahmad Abdulwahab Al-Awadhi, the Health Minister of Kuwait, Guest of Honors, Dr Adarsh Swaika, Ambassador of India to Kuwait and Dr Abdulla Al-Banna, Vice President of Kuwait Medical Association.
The event was ornamented by the presence of a galaxy of dignitaries including Sheikha Umm Rakan Al-Sabah, Sheikh Salman Bader Al-Sabah, Sheikha Al-Abdullah, Sheikha Dosari, Sheikha Anisa Al-Sabah, many prominent doctors, heads of various departments of MoH, and many administrative heads of different governmental organizations.
IDF was pleased by the attendance of senior businesspersons and presidents and representatives of different associations in Kuwait and the sponsors of Health Guide 2025. Dr Philipose George, general secretary of IDF welcomed the assembled dignitaries and guests. He focused on the community health promotional activities which are regularly conducted by IDF. In his speech, Dr Sameer Humad, President of IDF highlighted the issue of raising health awareness. He expressed his gratitude to all the guests, dignitaries and to all the doctors and their families for attending the event.








The inaugural speech was given by Dr Ahmad Al-Awadhi in which he conveyed his congratulations to IDF, diaspora of Indian doctors in Kuwait and to the Indian community at large. He highlighted the close bond between India and Kuwait.
Dr Adarsh Swaika praised the Indian doctor’s dedication and work ethics. Dr Abdullah Al-Banna highlighted the valuable contribution made by the Indian doctors. Dr Arijit Chattopadhaya, the chief editor of the Health Guide together with his team of co-editors informed about the topic ‘Smart Health and implication of Artificial Intelligence and Gene Therapy in Healthcare’. The health guide was released by Dr Al-Awadhi.
Dr Sushovana Sujit Nair, the vice president IDF anchored the official program and Dr Mohan Ram, vice president IDF expressed the vote of thanks. Dr Anila Albert, the IDF cultural secretary, kicked off the cultural program. She explained the concept of ‘Yeh Mera India’, the theme of the cultural program, which was beautifully displayed in a movie format. Dr Fibisha Nidal, joint cultural secretary invited the president and ladies for lighting the lamp. A video teaser with inputs by Dr Antony Sebastian D’Cruz highlighted the cultural program extravaganza.
The vibrant cultural program showcased the festivals of India, cricket as the cultural and religious sport of India, Indian cinema, patriotism, the Indian railways as the lifeline, mime, and the diverse states of India, culminating in the grand finale. The houseful of audience was spellbound by the performances, exclusively done by doctors and their family members. The audio visual, light and sound effect was extremely well coordinated and attractive. Choreography of the dances was excellent. In the grand finale, all the office-bearers of IDF, along with their spouses, participated with flags of Kuwait and India, depicting the solidarity between these two great nations. Raffle draws were conducted by the treasurers Dr Sunny Varghese, Dr Jibin John Thomas with grand prizes for IDF members.
