KUWAIT: Two Kuwaiti charities, the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) and Namaa Charity Foundation, have been actively supporting those in need both locally and abroad during Ramadan, embodying the spirit of the holy month through acts of compassion and solidarity. The KRCS distributed 1,300 food baskets to families in Kuwait, helping alleviate the financial strain during Ramadan. The baskets included essential items such as rice, sugar, dates, cooking oil, canned goods, and other necessities, providing vital support to vulnerable families. Fawaz Al-Mazrouei, the director-general of KRCS, emphasized the charity’s goal of fostering social solidarity.
Meanwhile, Namaa Charity continued its efforts in Palestine by launching its “Iftar for the Fasting in Jerusalem” project. Over several days, the foundation distributed iftar meals to 1,800 defenders of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, offering nourishment and boosting morale during the sacred month.

The defenders, facing daily challenges due to the ongoing Zionist entity occupation, received meals to support their steadfastness. Khaled Al-Shammari, director of Namaa Charity’s Relief Department, described the initiative as more than just a humanitarian project. “It is a message of support and love for the people of Jerusalem,” Al-Shammari said. “Through this project, we are not only providing nourishment but also reaffirming our commitment to their resilience in the face of adversity.”
The meals, carefully prepared and distributed during the nightly iftar gatherings at Al-Aqsa Mosque, offer more than just sustenance — they serve as a reminder of the deep bond between the people of Kuwait and Palestine. By supporting the defenders of Al-Aqsa, Namaa Charity helps strengthen their morale and bolsters the spirit of solidarity within the Muslim world. — KUNA
