KALA Kuwait to host literature festival

Kerala Art Lovers Association (KALA) Kuwait has formed an organizing committee to conduct a literary and cultural festival in Kuwait in April. In this regard, a logo for the festival was shortlisted and finalized out of several logos that were received from the Kuwaiti expatriate community. The selected logo was designed by M A Sajeev, a KALA Kuwait member of Abbasiya central unit.

The meeting to form the organizing committee was held at Mangaf KALA Center and was presided over by its president. General secretary T V Hikmat outlined the details of the festival. R Naganathan, Jyothidas and Jawahar were elected as the patron of the organizing committee while Preman Illath was elected as the chairman.

Vice chairmen are Sunil K Cherian, Dharmarajan Madappally and Shibu Philip. General convener of the event is Manikandan Vattamkulam and conveners are Thomas Selvan and Ashalatha Balakrishnan. Program committee convener - Sanal G, Finance - Manu, Stage & Sound - Nishanth, Volunteer & Food - Naveen, Registration - Jithin Prakash, Stationery - Justin (Abbasiya), Media & Publicity - Majith, Reception - Anoop Mangat, and as the session conveners, Story: Dilin, Poetry: Manoj Kumar, Novel: Joby Baby, Media: Sreejith, Artificial Intelligence: Ajith Pattamana were also selected.

In addition, a 77-member executive committee consisting of the members of the central committee of KALA and the four regional presidents was also elected. The meeting was also attended by the secretary of the literary wing, Manikandan Vattamkulam, and the secretary of the Fahaheel region Sajin Murali.

The KALA Kuwait Literature Festival (KKLF) will be held on April 24 and 25, 2025. Apart from Kuwait, renowned writers and speakers from Kerala and from various other diaspora countries are expected to participate in the festival. Joint secretary Praseed Karunakaran welcomed the gathering and Preman Illath proposed a vote of thanks.
