Kuwait sends 35th relief aid plane to Sudan

KUWAIT: The 35th relief aid plane from Kuwait departed for Port Sudan on Thursday morning, carrying 40 tons of food supplies and tents to assist displaced individuals in Sudan. This initiative is part of the ongoing “Kuwait by Your Side” campaign, as reported by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS). Ambassador Khaled Al-Maqamis, Chairman of the KRCS Board of Directors, stated to KUNA that the relief mission was launched under the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

Al-Maqamis emphasized that this latest aid flight aligns with Kuwait’s continuous support for the Sudanese people, delivering crucial humanitarian supplies including 40 tons of food and tents aimed at alleviating the hardship faced by displaced families. He also extended his gratitude to the Kuwaiti Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs, and Social Affairs, as well as the Kuwait Embassy in Sudan and the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS) for their contributions to ensuring the success of the mission.

In addition to food and shelter, KRCS has provided medicines, medical supplies, and ambulances, in close coordination with SRCS to facilitate their distribution to the affected communities. Sudanese Ambassador to Kuwait Awad Karim Balah, speaking on Wednesday, commended the humanitarian efforts of KRCS, highlighting how these initiatives have significantly eased the suffering of those in need in Sudan and around the world.- KUNA
