Maintenance work continues on Abdullah Al-Mubarak area roads

KUWAIT: Minister of Public Works Dr Noura Al-Mashaan announced the continuation of radical maintenance works on roads in the Abdullah Al-Mubarak area as part of the new maintenance contracts for highways and internal roads, which include 18 major road maintenance practices in various areas of the country across the six governorates.

Al-Mashaan stated in a press statement on Tuesday that road maintenance works will start in the most affected areas and then proceed to the least affected, with supervision and follow-up on the maintenance works. She noted that work teams from the ministry will monitor the implementation of the maintenance tasks, as a committee has been formed to select supervising engineers and conduct tests for them to ensure effective management.

She emphasized the continuation of road maintenance projects in all areas, committing to quality and achieving international specifications. She explained that investing in infrastructure enhances economic growth, improves quality of life, and supports sustainable development.

For his part, Engineer Mohammed Al-Moussawi from the Supervision Department of the ‘Farwaniya Governorate Project, Scope 2,’ said in a similar statement that the ministry’s teams are present between plots 2 and 4 in the Abdullah Al-Mubarak area to follow up on the latest developments in the new contracts for radical maintenance of road works. He indicated that the works consist of spreading an asphalt layer with a thickness of 5 centimeters. Al-Moussawi urged citizens and residents to check with the General Traffic Department to stay informed about upcoming closures to avoid traffic jams. — KUNA
