Minister inspects 5th Ring Road project

KUWAIT: Minister of Public Works Dr Noura Al-Mashaan on Saturday inspected the Fifth Ring Road development project to review the latest developments and monitor the implementation work on the ground. The Ministry of Public Works stated in a release that Minister Al-Mashaan inaugurated the Fifth Ring Road Tunnel towards Jahra, which aims to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in surrounding areas such as Al-Siddiq, Al-Salam, Hatteen, Surra and Qurtuba.

The minister emphasized that the Fifth Ring Road development project includes the construction of a tunnel in both directions with sub-paths towards Surra and Qurtuba, as well as others towards Al-Siddiq and Al-Salam, in addition to converting Damascus Street into an overpass. Al-Mashaan directed the concerned teams at the Ministry of Public Works and the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport to continue with the work and expedite the implementation stages to achieve the required completion within the specified timelines and according to the agreed-upon standards.

She stated that this visit is intended to follow up on the progress of work on the Fifth Ring Road development project, stressing that the Ministry of Public Works is making every effort to enhance the infrastructure, in line with the directives of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Minister Al-Mashaan also emphasized that field visits and inspections of projects are essential steps to ensure the safety of these vital projects and the country’s infrastructure. — KUNA
