Diplomatic Day event showcases cultural displays and handicrafts

KUWAIT: The Ministry of Information held the “Diplomatic Day” event in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Diplomatic Institute, affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Thursday at the “Seafarers’ Day Village,” with the participation of a number of ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, and heads of diplomatic missions to Kuwait. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Dr Nasser Muhaisen, told reporters that the event is held under the patronage of the Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, with the attendance of 62 ambassadors accredited to Kuwait.

Muhaisen added that the event comes on the occasion of the country’s national celebrations and coincides with the selection of Kuwait as the Capital of Arab Culture and Media 2025, as it includes pavilions displaying the cultures, handicrafts, and heritage of the participating countries, in addition to the participation of the Kuwaiti Army Brass Band and a folk band.

He explained that the participation and presence of embassies today enhance cultural sharing between Kuwait and the countries of the world, stressing that Kuwait has a great cultural and media heritage. In turn, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in the country, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Kuwait, Dr Zubaydullah Zubaydov, confirmed in a similar statement to journalists that all attendees from the diplomatic corps in Kuwait feel happy to be present at this event, which confirms the strength of the diplomatic corps’ relations with the Kuwaiti people.

Ambassador Zubaydov extended his congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and to the Kuwaiti people on the national holidays. He also expressed his congratulations to Kuwait for being chosen as the Capital of Arab Culture and Media for the year 2025. — KUNA
