ACA senior girls gain hands-on experience in journalism at Kuwait Times

KUWAIT: Senior students from the American Creative Academy (ACA) Girls had an immersive experience in the world of journalism during their recent visit to Kuwait Times and Kuwait News. The field trip offered an in-depth look at how news is gathered, processed, and delivered to the public. The students toured the editorial department, where they observed the fast-paced workflow of journalists, editors, and designers working together to produce daily news. They learned about the importance of thorough research, fact-checking, and precise reporting, essential elements in maintaining credibility and delivering reliable news.

In the archives section, they explored historic editions of Kuwait Times, gaining insights into how newspapers serve as a record of significant events and societal changes. Moving on to the printing press, the students witnessed firsthand how newspapers transition from digital layouts to printed copies ready for distribution across the country.

During their visit to the studio, the students got a closer look at the production of video news content, an essential component of modern journalism. They discovered how multimedia storytelling enhances audience engagement and expands news reach beyond traditional print formats.

As part of their studio experience, the students also participated in a fun and interactive game, where they had to guess the meanings of Kuwaiti words, adding a cultural and educational element to their visit. A key highlight of the trip was learning about the evolving role of social media in journalism. The students discussed how platforms like Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok have transformed news consumption and audience interaction, making information more accessible and immediate.
