Kuwait’s Al-Nouri Charity opens mosque in Ankara

ANKARA: Kuwait’s Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri Charity Association inaugurated a mosque in the Turkish capital Ankara on Friday at the expense of Kuwaiti donors. Chairman of the association Jamal Al-Nouri told KUNA that the inauguration of the mosque, which bears the name of Salah Al-Din Al-Ayyubi, “embodies the highest meanings of faith and brotherhood among Muslims. He stressed that this project “would not have seen the light without the grace of Allah Almighty and then the benevolent people of the State of Kuwait.”

Al-Nouri added that the cost of the project to build this mosque amounted to $350,000, indicating that the area of the main prayer hall is 150 square meters, in addition to the external courtyards, where the mosque can accommodate 300 worshipers.

He pointed out that this project “is nothing but a link in a chain of charitable offering that has always distinguished the State of Kuwait, which Allah has blessed with generous rulers and a generous people who are always keen to spread goodness and establish the meanings of Islamic solidarity.”

He said that the association is proud to be part of “this blessed journey that enjoys the generous support and patronage of the political leadership that continues Kuwait’s pioneering journey in giving and charitable work inside and outside Kuwait. He said the mosque, which was inaugurated on Saturday, “will remain a witness to the strength of the close relations between our two Muslim countries - Kuwait and Turkey,” adding that “this fraternal relationship is based on the foundations of love, brotherhood and cooperation in everything that is good for the Islamic nation.” — KUNA
