KUWAIT: Grade nine and ten students from the American Creative Academy (ACA) Girls got a firsthand look at how news comes to life during their visit to Kuwait Times and Kuwait News offices on Monday. The students started their tour in the editorial department, where they learned that putting together a newspaper is a team effort.
From researching and fact-checking to writing, editing, and designing, the entire process takes around six hours every day to ensure accurate and engaging news reaches the public. In the archives room, they explored past editions and saw how newspapers document important events, preserving stories for future generations. Next, at the printing press, they observed how newspapers are printed and prepared for distribution.
In the studio, they got a behind-the-scenes look at how video content is produced to complement written stories, making news more engaging and accessible. One of the key takeaways from the visit was the importance of fact-checking and thorough research to ensure credibility before publishing.

The students also discovered how Kuwait Times collaborates with local and international news agencies, allowing it to deliver news from around the world with accuracy and reliability. The role of social media in journalism was another interesting topic, as students saw how platforms like Instagram and Twitter help news organizations connect with audiences and share updates instantly.
This visit was part of ACA’s commitment to providing its students with diverse educational experiences. Founded in 1997, ACA offers an American curriculum while embracing local values. Accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA), ACA prepares students for higher education worldwide, with a 100 percent college acceptance rate. By the end of the trip, the ACA students walked away with a deeper appreciation for journalism and a better understanding of what goes into producing a newspaper every day.
