KUWAIT: The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kuwait, Chong-Suk Park, met with local media representatives on Monday to discuss bilateral relations with Kuwait. During the meeting, the Korean Ambassador said that 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of Korea-Kuwait construction cooperation, a milestone in the strong partnership between the two countries. He stated: “Over the past five decades, Korean companies have played a key role in Kuwait’s infrastructure development, contributing to major projects such as Ring Roads 1 and 6, Highway 30, and the Jaber Causeway. Landmarks that stand as symbols of this collaboration.”
The ambassador indicated that his country and Kuwait’s partnership extends beyond construction, with Korea playing a vital role in supporting Kuwait’s Vision 2035. He pointed out that Korean companies are actively engaged in various fields, including the operation of Kuwait International Airport (T4), smart city development, smart farms, fiber optic cable manufacturing, and healthcare.
He affirmed that both countries looking to the future, and cooperation is expected to expand further, adding “To celebrate this historic anniversary, our embassy is organizing a series of events aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and promoting high-level exchanges. Alongside economic initiatives like the Smart City Forum, we will host cultural and sports events.”
Korean ambassador explained “The events will include the Ambassador’s Taekwondo Tournament, the Korean Food Festival, a Film Festival, and a Quiz Competition, fostering deeper cultural understanding. Additionally, events focused on studying and tourism in Korea will provide valuable insights for those interested in exploring new opportunities.” He concluded, “We hope this material offers a clear understanding of the strong Korea-Kuwait relationship and our embassy’s plans for this year’s activities.”
