Ministry attracts int’l expertise in medical fields

KUWAIT: The Ministry of Health announced Sunday that the Kuwait Board of Pediatric Dentistry Program at Al-Farwaniya Specialized Dental Center will organize a specialized training course in treating children’s dental injuries and fractures as part of the visiting doctors program, through which the Ministry seeks to attract advanced international expertise in various medical fields.

Pediatric dentistry consultant and director of the Kuwait Board of Pediatric Dentistry Program Dr Anfal Faridoun confirmed in a press statement that this course is the first of its kind in Kuwait, as it was specifically designed to provide trainee doctors in the program with the latest knowledge and practical skills in the field of treating children’s dental injuries and fractures.

Dr Faridoun stated that hosting world-renowned names in this field provides Kuwaiti doctors with the opportunity to learn directly from pioneers in the specialty and so as to apply the latest treatment protocols. The course included specialized workshops and intensive lectures presented by Professor Mitsuhiro Takebushi from Japan, Professor Monty Dougall from England, and Professor Lars Anderson from Sweden, where the training workshops focused on advanced diagnosis, modern treatment techniques, and management of complex cases.

She pointed out that the visiting professors supervised the pediatric dental fractures clinic at the center, where they followed up on clinical cases and discussed treatment plans with trainee doctors, which contributed to developing their scientific and clinical approach. Dr Faridoun explained that the Kuwaiti Board Program for Pediatric Dentistry aims, through these qualitative courses, to enhance the quality of medical training in Kuwait, as the Ministry seeks to unify efforts between academic education and practical training to ensure the preparation of competent doctors capable of providing distinguished medical services according to the highest international standards.

She stressed the Ministry’s continued attraction of international competencies within medical education and development programs, believing that exchanging experiences with international doctors is a fundamental pillar for advancing the health sector, noting that such courses reflect the Ministry’s vision of achieving a qualitative shift in the quality of health care provided to patients in Kuwait.- KUNA
