ANKARA: The Kuwaiti Army announced on Friday the graduation of the second batch of Air Force personnel of “pilots and shooters” (Bayraktar TB2) drone in a ceremony held by the Baykar company at its training center in the Kishan region in Turkey. The General Staff of the Army stated in a press statement that a number of officers passed the second course, which lasted four months, as part of a pre-arranged training program to prepare the technical, operational cadres and crews of the aircraft from the Air Force personnel. It added that the Bayraktar TB2 drone was tested in Kuwait before contracting and achieved a record flight time of 27 hours without interruption in difficult weather conditions.

It indicated that the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense concluded, through a direct contract between the governments of Kuwait and Turkey, to purchase the Turkish (Bayraktar TB2) drone system with the aim of enhancing the capabilities of the Kuwaiti army to carry out multiple missions to support military and security operations. The ceremony was attended by the head of the Kuwaiti military office in Turkey. — KUNA
