By Rami Tahboub, Ambassador of the State of Palestine

I extend my deepest gratitude and appreciation, on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, to the brotherly State of Kuwait. In particular, I thank His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the country - may Allah protect him - His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince, and the Government of Kuwait for their clear, firm and unwavering stance. This was exemplified this morning in the statement issued by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which categorically rejects any attempt to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from their land and homeland under any pretext.

In this regard, we reaffirm that the Palestinian people and leadership will not allow the displacement of Palestinians from their land and sacred sites. Our people have clear national goals that they will never abandon: No to occupation and no to displacement. We call upon all our brothers and friends to continue supporting us in achieving these objectives, which are the shortest path to peace, security, and prosperity in the region.

Furthermore, we reiterate that the State of Palestine holds full legal and political jurisdiction over Gaza and all occupied Palestinian territories. The immediate priorities that must be implemented now are an end to the (Zionist) aggression, a full and immediate ceasefire, complete withdrawal of Zionist forces from Gaza, improved mechanisms for delivering and distributing humanitarian aid and provision of temporary shelter. The Palestinian government stands ready to undertake these efforts in phases, ensuring that no citizen is forced to leave Gaza.

The international community, which has unanimously rejected all plans for the displacement of our people, must support the efforts of the Palestinian government to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem. Additionally, the international community must work towards a comprehensive political solution based on UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. This includes granting Palestine full UN membership, implementing the two-state solution, and establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital along the 1967 borders. This is the only path to achieving genuine peace and security for all in the region.
