KUWAIT: The Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) affirmed that the Kuwaiti-Brazilian relations extend for decades of mutual cooperation in various fields, as Kuwait contributed to enhancing energy security in Brazil through its oil exports, while Brazil played a pivotal role in securing Kuwait’s food needs, which made this economic partnership with integrated strategic dimensions.
The KCCI said in a press statement on Monday on the occasion of receiving a Brazilian economic delegation headed by the Secretary-General of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Muhammad Murad and in the presence of the Brazilian Ambassador to the country Rodrigo Araujogabes. The meeting, attended by businessmen from both Kuwait and Brazil, sought to explore broader areas of trade and investment reflecting the commitment of the two countries to develop and strengthen the relationship.
It explained that the presence of an elite group of representatives from the Brazilian aviation, agriculture, renewable energy, and heavy industries sectors adds a new dimension to the partnership, indicating that this diversity comes at an ideal time while Kuwait is moving forward towards implementing the ‘New Kuwait 2035’ vision, which aims to build a sustainable economy based on diversification and innovation, enhancing food security, sustainability in the energy sector, and excellence.
The statement said the Kuwaiti private sector is keen exploring international partnerships and opening new horizons for growth and development, adding, “Here comes the role of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is committed to providing all means of support to ensure the success of these partnerships and facilitate fruitful cooperation between Kuwaiti and Brazilian companies.”
Secretary-General of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Mohammed Murad said according to the statement that the meeting contributes to strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries. “There is a huge potential for bilateral cooperation, especially in exports of various products in addition to the oil sectors,” he said.
Director of the International Office of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber, residing in Dubai, Rafael Solimeo, presented a presentation on the work of the KCCI and the services it provides to support Arab-Brazilian relations. The representative of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Agency also presented a presentation on the role of the agency as a link between decision-makers and business owners, with a focus on the Arabian Gulf region and keenness to enhance trade with it.
The meeting witnessed a presentation by the Investment and Trade Promotion Agency in the state of Sao Paulo, the airline company (EMBRAER) and the agricultural studies company. –KUNA
