NAFO Global hosts family get-together

NAFO Global Kuwait once again brought its community together in a heartwarming evening of celebration and camaraderie at the NAFO Global ‘Kudumbasangamam 2025’ (family get-together) held on January 24 at the Indian Public School, Salmiya. The event was a tribute to the organization’s deep-rooted commitment to honoring its members and fostering a spirit of unity.

The evening radiated warmth as NAFO celebrated its outgoing Class 12 students, who are set to embark on new paths in life. The honorees—Amrutha Sanjay Nair, Durga Suresh, Hansuja Sunilkumar, Lakshmi Ramesh, Nivedita Anilkumar, Shreya Subin Nair, and Snigdha Nambiar—were felicitated with NAFO precious medal plaques and certificate of appreciation. These remarkable young individuals were wished the very best as they prepare to leave Kuwait for higher studies and a new beginning. This heartfelt gesture underscored NAFO’s commitment to nurturing and recognizing young talent as they step into new chapters of life.

The evening began with a prayer song performed by NAFO’s young talent, Nakshatra, Karishma and Kalyani setting a serene and welcoming tone. Senior women members of the NAFO family—Jayalakshmi Pramod, Lekha Suresh, Smriti Madhavan, Sunitha Vijayakrishnan, Sajitha Madhu Menon, Julie Naveen, and Surekha Murali—lit the traditional Bhadradeepam, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and wisdom. General Secretary Naveen CP welcomed the gathering, while President Vijayakrishnan and Patron Sunil Parakkapadath addressed the audience, sharing updates on NAFO’s ongoing activities and unveiling exciting plans for the future.

A touching tribute to the legendary Bhavagayakan Late Jayachandran was one of the highlights of the evening. NAFO members delivered a medley of his iconic compositions, filling the venue with nostalgia and heartfelt emotions. The organization also lauded the exceptional achievements of Class 10 students Athulya Jayadevan, Avika Nair, Kaushik Suman, and Rohit S. Nair, recognizing their academic excellence. Special awards included the Encouragement Award in Performing Arts, presented to Ankita Bipin, and the Young Achiever Award 2025, bestowed upon Rohit Nair for his remarkable accomplishments in the performing arts category.

The felicitation speeches were led by KC Gopakumar (Advisory Board Member), Madhu Menon (EC Member), and Jayalakshmi Pramod (Chief Coordinator, Ladies Wing), who reminded the students of their future responsibilities while wishing them great success. Convener of the program, Ajay Mohan, expressed a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of everyone who contributed to the success of the event.

The evening was made even more vibrant with performances by NAFO Kids and NAFO Yuva, including a comedy skit inspired by the 1991 Malayalam classic “Kilukkam”, which left the audience in splits. Abhay Nair and Jijuna Unni’s exceptional hosting added energy and charm to the gathering.

The gathering also saw the much-anticipated announcement of NAFO Global Muze’25, a Festival of Music set for April 18, 2025, at the American International School. The star-studded event will feature live performances by the acclaimed artists KS Harisankar and Kavya Ajit, promising a night of musical brilliance that the NAFO community eagerly awaits.

NAFO Global ‘Kudumbasangamam 2025’ was a resounding success, blending celebration, recognition, and community spirit. It reflected NAFO’s enduring commitment to fostering a vibrant and supportive environment for its members and community at large. As the evening drew to a close, attendees left with cherished memories and the promise of more unforgettable events to come.
