KUWAIT: The competitions of The Stadium International Show Jumping Championship began Wednesday at Marina Beach, sponsored by KIB
The Stadium. The event was inaugurated in the presence of First Deputy Premier, Defense and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, Director General of the Public Authority for Sport (PAS) Bashar Abdullah, Olympic Committee member and Secretary-General of the Kuwait Equestrian Federation (KEF) Ghazi Faisal Al-Jraiwi, KEF President Masoud Jowhar Hayat, KEF Vice President Sheikh Yousuf Meshal Al-Sabah, President of the Hunting and Equestrian Club Sheikh Dhari Al-Fahad, as well as officials from KIB and the organizing committee.
The first day of competitions featured exceptional performances by riders Fawaz Al-Subaie, British rider Nick Channing, Mohammad Al-Shimmari, Abdullah Al-Roudhan, Aous Al-Tannak and Khalid Al-Khubaizi during the first and second rounds at heights of 125 and 135 cm.
The championship continues Friday with four rounds at heights of 100-105 cm, 110-115 cm and a mini prix at 130 cm. The highlight of the day will be the grand prix at 140 cm, where the overall champion will be crowned. The championship concludes Saturday with two rounds at heights of 110 and 120 cm.

Hayat praises attendance and support
KEF President Hayat expressed gratitude for the attendance of First Deputy Premier Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, whose presence to officially open the championship delighted officials, technicians and riders alike. Hayat also acknowledged the participation of Sheikh Dhari and representatives from KIB and the organizing committee.
He thanked all sponsors for their support of equestrianism in Kuwait and commended the fans for their enthusiasm. This is the second consecutive season the championship is being held at Marina Beach.
Sheikh Dhari also extended his appreciation to Sheikh Fahad for his attendance and ongoing support. He highlighted Kuwait’s longstanding achievements in equestrian sports, dating back over 40 years, mentioning Sheikha Bariah Al-Sabah, Jamila Al-Mutawaa and Nadia Al-Mutawaa, who earned Kuwait’s first equestrian medals during the 1982 Asian Games.
He emphasized that today’s activities and the sustained efforts of KEF reflect the collective commitment to advancing Kuwait’s equestrian legacy, stating, “We are all in the same boat, united in our support for Kuwait equestrianism.”
