Oil Innovates 3 awards to showcase youth innovations in oil sector

KUWAIT: The Ministry of Oil will host the awards ceremony for the third edition of the “Oil Innovates 3” competition in earl y February, an initiative aimed at encouraging young Kuwaitis to develop innovative solutions to address the challenges facing the oil industry. The event, to be held at the Oil Complex Auditorium in Shuwaikh, underscores the Ministry’s continued efforts to foster creativity, support scientific research, and empower youth to shape the future of the sector.

“Through this award, we aim to create an environment that stimulates creativity while enhancing the capabilities of youth to develop practical, innovative solutions for the industry’s evolving needs,” said Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director of Public Relations and Media at the Ministry, in an interview with Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

This year’s competition saw submissions from 23 teams, including 10 male teams and 13 female teams, each consisting of three members. This strong participation highlights the enthusiasm of the younger generation to contribute to the advancement of Kuwait’s oil sector through innovative projects.

The awards ceremony, set for February, will be attended by key figures from the Ministry of Oil, including Sheikh Dr Nimr Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Ministry, and Neda Al-Daihani, Director-General of the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity. The event will feature presentations of the winning projects, selected by a panel of judges based on criteria such as innovation, quality, and feasibility. The top three winning teams will be awarded certificates of appreciation in recognition of their outstanding contributions. — KUNA

Additionally, the ceremony will include an exhibition by the event’s sponsors, showcasing their products and services, and highlighting their commitment to supporting innovation and corporate social responsibility.

Sheikha Tamader concluded by reaffirming the Ministry’s dedication to fostering innovation through initiatives like the “Oil Innovates” award. “This award reflects the Ministry’s commitment to nurturing the creative potential of youth, enabling them to make impactful contributions to the development of the oil industry, and ultimately improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing productivity,” she said. — KUNA
