Sheikh Ali Al-Sabah Annual Shooting Championship concludes

KUWAIT: The late Sheikh Ali Al-Sabah Annual Shooting Championship for the season (2024-2025), organized by the Kuwaiti Shooting Sport Club, concluded on Saturday by crowning the winners of its competitions, which witnessed the participation of shooters from Kuwait.

Governor of Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Sheikh Sabah Bader Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, stressed in a statement to reporters after the conclusion of the tournament the keenness to hold this tournament annually to support Kuwaiti shooters who make great achievements for Kuwaiti sports in international forums.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Bader Al-Sabah explained that the great efforts of the Kuwait Shooting Sport Club and their outstanding organization of the tournament, which was held at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex, resulted in its great success, congratulating the shooters who won the various competitions of the tournament.

For his part, KSSC President Engineer Duaij Al-Otaibi said in a statement that the tournament witnessed a large participation of Kuwaiti shooters as they competed in (pistol, rifle and archery), indicating that it appeared at a high technical level and achieved high numbers for shooters in various categories.

Al-Otaibi stressed the importance of these local tournaments in raising the level of Kuwaiti shooters as well as an opportunity to emerge new talents in the game, looking forward to the club’s organization of the HH the Amir International Grand Prix Shooting Championship next April, which is the most important championships hosted by the club annually.

He appreciated the support of the late Sheikh Ali’s family of Kuwait Shooting Sport, which is represented by holding this tournament annually for many years and this year witnessed the presence of Sheikh Sabah Al-Bader Al-Sabah and Sheikh Ali Thamer Ali Al-Sabah, thanking all the working committees for their tireless work, which contributed to its success.

The competitions of the championship, which was organized by the Kuwait Shooting Sport Club over three days, resulted in Hamad Al-Nimshan winning the first place in the men’s 10-meter air pistol, and Abdullah Al-Harbi won the first place in the men’s 10-meter air rifle.

Shooter Hassan Al-Filkawi won first place in the 25-meter pistol competition, while shooter Saud Al-Subaie won first place in the 50-meter rifle competition. Archer Habes Al-Shammari won first place in the Olympic bow and arrow competition, while archer Mohammed Madi came first in the same competition for a distance of 30 meters, while the first place in the (compound bow and arrow) competition was awarded to archer Abdullah Malallah.

In the women’s competition, Ghazlan Ali won the 10-meter air pressure pistol competition, while Mariam Irzouqi won the 10-meter air pressure rifle competition. Nour Al-Sharhan won the first place in the Olympic bow and arrow competition, while Hessa Mohammed won the first place in the 30-meter competition, while Hanan Al-Mayas won the first place in the compound bow and arrow competition.

In the junior category, archer shooter Nasser Al-Rabah won the first place in the 10-meter air rifle competition, while shooter Rataj Al-Ziyadi won the title of the female category in the same competition.
