KUWAIT: The Kuwait Archery Club organized on Thursday the annual championship of the late Sheikh Ali Al-Sabah for the season (2024-2025) at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Ranges Complex, with the participation of archers from Kuwait.
Club President Duaij Al-Otaibi said in a press statement on this occasion that the tournament includes six competitions in (lead) and (bow and arrow) shooting for men, women, junior and junior categories.
He added that the competitions will be (pistol air pressure 10 meters), (rifle air pressure 10 meters), (pistol 25 meters), (rifle 50 meters), (Olympic bow and arrow) and (compound bow and arrow), explaining that the opening day will be for official training, and the finals will be held tomorrow, and on Saturday.
He pointed out that the technical and administrative bodies at the club started preparing early to organize this major event by setting the timetables for training and competitions, in addition to preparing the club’s ranges and providing special supplies for archers and shooters.
Al-Otaibi pointed out that the tournament is an important station for the shooters of the Kuwaiti national team in these disciplines to be fully prepared and ready for the upcoming international competitions, expressing his hope that all participating shooters will present distinguished levels in the tournament.
He stated that this tournament has a special place in the Kuwaiti shooting family because of the deceased’s distinguished contributions to the development of Kuwaiti shooting sports, thanking the family of the deceased for their keenness to hold the tournament annually. — KUNA
