KUWAIT: In a key directive from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti Cabinet announced that the coast guard base located on the northern island at Sheikh Jaber Causeway will be renamed after the late Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. This announcement was made during the Cabinet’s weekly meeting, which was chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

During the meeting, several initiatives were discussed, including a comprehensive presentation by Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Abdullah Al-Ajeel on the Strategic Supply Centers Project. This initiative, aimed at strengthening Kuwait’s food security, plans to establish new supply centers across the country, enhancing storage capacity and improving food product display areas.

In addition to improving distribution efficiency, the project will introduce home delivery services for eligible citizens, ensuring greater accessibility, particularly for vulnerable populations. The initiative also highlights Kuwait’s commitment to employment for its nationals, with plans to staff the new centers primarily with local workers. To oversee the implementation, the Ministry of Trade and Industry will provide quarterly progress reports, ensuring the project stays on track and meets its objectives.

Additionally, the Cabinet took the opportunity to extend congratulations to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman on the fifth anniversary of his ascension to the throne, expressing wishes for continued prosperity for him and the people of Oman. Furthermore, the Cabinet congratulated President Joseph Aoun on his election as the President of Lebanon, offering Kuwait’s best wishes for Lebanon’s success and stability under his leadership.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved the report from the Supreme Committee for Kuwait Nationality Affairs, which involved revoking citizenship from individuals who obtained it through fraud or forgery, in accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law No 15 of 1959 and its amendments. — KUNA
