Kuwait, US, UK officials discuss bilateral ties

KUWAIT: His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah met with US Ambassador to Kuwait, Karen Hideko Sasahara, at Bayan Palace on Monday. The two discussed ways to further strengthen Kuwaiti-US relations across various sectors and exchanged views on several issues of mutual interest. Chief of His Highness the Prime Minister’s Diwan, Abdulaziz Al-Dakheel, also attended the meeting.

In other diplomatic developments, Major General Khaled Al-Shuraian, representative of Kuwait’s Deputy Chief-of-Staff, met with Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, the British Defense Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa, on Monday. They discussed issues of common interest during Ahlgren’s official visit to Kuwait, accompanied by a delegation.

A number of senior military officials from both sides were present at the meeting. Kuwaiti Defense Ministry Undersecretary Sheikh Dr Abdullah Meshal Al-Sabah also met with Vice Admiral Ahlgren on Monday. The meeting was attended by Ministry Assistant Undersecretary Sheikha Dr Shamayel Al-Sabah, UK Ambassador to Kuwait Belinda Lewis, and other senior ministry officials. — KUNA
