KUWAIT: BNK Motion Motoplex unveiled its highly anticipated showroom in Shuwaikh, on Thursday, marking a significant milestone for the motorcycle community in Kuwait.
During the opening ceremony, Mishal Al-Safran, Vice President of BNK Automotive and Motion’s Board of Directors, told Kuwait Times that the grand opening of the BNK Motion Motoplex showroom is an event they have been eagerly anticipating for a long time.
“We chose this specific timing, especially during this month, as it falls within the prime motorcycle season, which runs from October to April,” he said. “Our showroom today includes a wide range of products that meet the needs of motorcycle enthusiasts. We offer various models, including Vespa scooters, high-speed bikes, motorcycles, and even off-road bikes suitable for farms and chalets. Our goal is to cater to all customer preferences and requirements.”
Al-Safran revealed that the showroom also offers a hall where bikers can gather, enjoy breakfast, and set out in groups to Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway, Abdullah Port, or chalet roads. He emphasized that BNK provides all the support and comfort they need for an exceptional experience, proudly noting that this unique showroom is the only one of its kind in Kuwait.
He said BNK plans to expand its presence across all areas, from north to south. “For now, we’ve started here in the city, but in the future, we are looking into introducing additional products, such as four-wheel all-terrain vehicles (ATVs),” he added.
Ashraf Tamimi, General Manager of BNK Automotive and Motion, said the weekend has been a memorable one for BNK. Following the showroom opening, the company saw its Aprilia ambassadors participate in a race at Kuwait Motor Town on Friday, where they were optimistic about achieving strong results. In addition, BNK hosted a CSR event supporting the Phoenician Riders during their annual ride for Bait Abdullah Cancer Center in Kuwait.
Speaking about the showroom, he pointed out that it showcases all motorcycle brands such as Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, and Vespa. Tamimi noted that BNK represents three Italian brands under the Piaggio Group: Aprilia caters to motorsport and performance enthusiasts, Moto Guzzi offers classic and adventure-style bikes, and Vespa is the iconic scooter brand, perfect for in-town mobility and a lifestyle choice for many riders.
Alexander Qabazard, in charge of operations at BNK Motion Automotive, expressed pride in the grand opening, highlighting the significant effort invested in creating the showroom. He described it as one of the finest showrooms to date, made possible through the vision and support of the Chairman of BNK Group, Bader Al-Kharafi.
“When Bader sets out to achieve something, he always goes all out, and that’s reflected in what we’ve accomplished here. This is, without a doubt, one of the largest and most impressive Piaggio Group showrooms in the world,” he added. “I’m thrilled to welcome bikers, enthusiasts, and the community to experience what we’ve built. Our goal is to foster a vibrant and healthy community of riders and contribute to the growth of the biking industry in Kuwait. Now that we have Kuwait Motor Town, we’re aiming to bring more racers into the field.”
Qabazard continued: “Our selection ensures that riders can find the perfect bike, whether it’s for casual use, adventure, or competitive racing. For those interested in racing, especially at Kuwait Motor Town, we provide bikes capable of achieving excellent track performance. We emphasize safe and responsible riding, encouraging racers to push limits on the track—not on the streets.”
A motorsport star
The Italian motorcycle racer and Aprilia brand ambassador, Tommaso Marcon, made his first appearance in Kuwait for the launch of a highly anticipated event. “It’s my first time in Kuwait, and I’m very happy to be here. The event is amazing, and it’s an honor to be part of such a special occasion. I even had the chance to take a quick look around the city, and it’s incredible. Over the next few days, I plan to explore more,” Marcon said.
He expressed his excitement to be on Kuwait Motor Town’s track. “I’ve watched a few videos of the track on YouTube, and it looks incredible. I really can’t wait to try it out,” he said. With guidance from fellow rider Alexander Qabazard, Marcon said he was prepared to make the most of his time on the track. “Alexander has given me some tips to go faster, and I’ll put them into practice,” he said.
The Motoplex, an innovative concept by Piaggio Group, features an impressive lineup of iconic brands including Vespa, Aprilia, and Moto Guzzi, catering to a wide spectrum of riders from casual commuters to performance-driven racers. With its modern design, expansive space, and fully equipped facilities, the BNK Motion Motoplex is set to become a central destination for motorcycle lovers in the region.
