Social Affairs gets 100 corruption reports since June

KUWAIT: Minister of Social Affairs, Family Affairs and Childhood Dr Amthal Al-Huwailah affirmed her commitment to continue monitoring efforts to combat corruption and consolidate the principles of justice in all sectors of the ministry, cooperative societies and public benefit societies in order to ensure compliance with laws and promote transparency.

Dr Al-Huwailah said on Thursday that the ministry is working to closely follow up on reports related to suspicions of corruption and take the necessary measures regarding them as part of its keenness to ensure the efficient and responsible provision of services, reflecting its commitment to the principles of integrity and sustainable development.

She explained that the team formed on June 25, 2024, headed by Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs Heba Al-Shammari, received 100 reports about suspicions of corruption related to the ministry’s sectors, cooperative societies and public benefit societies that are under the ministry’s supervision.

She stated that the team studied and investigated these reports in cooperation with the competent departments to reach specific results in accordance with the provisions of the law, in addition to providing recommendations to address the errors that led to these incidents.

She pointed out that the work of the team will be renewed to continue its tasks in receiving reports related to suspicions of corruption and taking the necessary action on them, calling on everyone to cooperate with the team by sending reports to the dedicated email address ([email protected]). — KUNA
