KRCS leaves a clear imprint on the map of humanitarian work

KUWAIT: Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Ambassador Khaled Al-Mughamis affirmed that the society has left a clear imprint on the map of humanitarian work since its establishment in 1966.

Ambassador Al-Mughamis said in a speech on Thursday on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the establishment of the KRCS, which falls on January 10, that the society, under the directives of the wise leadership, headed by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah is keen to adopt initiatives that enhance the humanitarian role of the society locally and abroad.

He added that His Highness the Amir is at the top of this humanitarian pyramid through HH’s interest in expanding the society’s humanitarian aid and expanding its projects around the world. It continues to work on the paths of humanitarian and charitable work to consolidate its principles, preserve human dignity, and support brotherly and friendly peoples in times of hardship.

He explained that it carries out projects in accordance with an integrated system that follows an approach that seeks to achieve more humanitarian gains in a manner befitting the pioneering position of the State of Kuwait in offering humanitarian aid regionally and internationally.

He stated that KRCS, over the course of 59 years since the establishment of the society, has succeeded locally, regionally and internationally in responding to most humanitarian appeals, stressing that the society’s current efforts are to restore the needy and the afflicted to their normal lives and preserve their dignity.

He explained that KRCS has been working silently and perseveringly and has provided medical devices, medicines, ambulances and thousands of tons of relief aid to affected countries in different continents of the world, in commitment to the principle of neutrality and impartiality. He pointed out that the society continues its success thanks to the efforts of those in charge of it yesterday and today and thanks to the efforts of supporters to be a bridge between the people of good and the needy regardless of their nationalities, races and religions, as it raises the slogan “Kuwait by your side”, which means standing with others towards noble and purposeful humanitarian goals.

Ambassador Al-Mughamis expressed his gratitude and appreciation to everyone who had a humanitarian touch through the KRCS and the wise government of the State of Kuwait that supports charitable and humanitarian work, noting the efforts of the partners whom he considered the first pillar in the work of the association, indicating that KRCS does not exist on its own but with its partners who are considered the most important added value to the association. On the anniversary of the founding of the association, he pointed out that KRCS welcomes a new phase of humanitarian initiatives with the anticipation of an era full of challenges. — KUNA
