BAGHDAD/TEHRAN: Kuwait’s newly appointed ambassadors to Iraq and Iran, Hassan Zaman and Dr Meshaal Al-Mansour, presented their credentials to Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid and Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday.

Ambassador Zaman, during his meeting with President Rashid, conveyed the greetings of HH the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah. Zaman reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening Kuwait-Iraq relations, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation and mutual interests in various fields.

President Rashid, in turn, praised the longstanding ties between the two nations and expressed his best wishes to the new ambassador for success in his diplomatic mission. He also underscored Iraq’s ongoing efforts to foster balanced relations and promote regional peace and stability. Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein also welcomed the ambassador, highlighting the historical and social bonds between the countries and stressing the importance of furthering bilateral cooperation.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Al-Mansour, in his meeting with President Pezeshkian in Tehran, conveyed the greetings of Kuwait’s leadership and extended their wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Iran. The Kuwaiti ambassador expressed Kuwait’s eagerness to enhance bilateral relations, stressing the importance of collaboration in various sectors and continued dialogue on shared regional concerns.

President Pezeshkian welcomed the ambassador and emphasized the close ties between Kuwait and Iran, citing shared religious and neighborly bonds. He also conveyed his greetings to HH the Amir and wished the people of Kuwait continued health and prosperity. Both ambassadors’ appointments reflect Kuwait’s ongoing commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties with neighboring countries and promoting regional stability and cooperation. —KUNA
