KUWAIT: Zain has unveiled its 2025 annual calendar, created this year in collaboration with the International Islamic Charity Organization, titled From Kuwait to Palestine. The calendar sends a unified message of solidarity for a shared cause. The partnership was announced in the presence of Zain Kuwait CEO Nawaf Al-Gharabally, Chairman of the Board of the International Islamic Charitable Organization Dr Abdullah Al-Matouq, the organization’s Director General Bader Al-Sumait, Zain Kuwait Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer Waleed Al-Khashti, and officials from both entities.
The calendar features exquisite illustrations and artworks that celebrate the rich Palestinian heritage. These were exclusively developed for Zain’s calendar by the talented Palestinian-Jordanian artist Salma Kanaan, who brought various Palestinian landmarks and elements to life through her vibrant artistic style. She drew inspiration from her heritage and the deeply rooted spirit of the Palestinian people and discovered her passion for art at a young age, seeing it as a powerful medium for expression and resistance.
The illustrations in the calendar depict iconic Palestinian elements such as Al-Aqsa Mosque, the olive tree, Dome of the Rock, the keffiyeh, the watermelon, Al-Ibrahimi Mosque, Handala, Jaffa oranges, the Palestine sunbird, the poppy anemone, the Faqqua Iris, and the "key of return.” The calendar is priced at KD 5, with all proceeds allocated to supporting the IICO’s campaigns dedicated to aiding the Palestinian people. Additionally, users can easily contribute extra donations via QR codes embedded throughout the calendar, linking directly to the organization’s donation platform. The campaigns include a food aid convoy providing essential supplies to families and a campaign for distributing clothing to orphans in Gaza.
In line with Zain’s sustainability strategy, the calendar is made from recyclable materials. It is available at select locations, including Zain’s HQ in Shuwaikh, new Al Kout Mall, The Warehouse Mall, Assima Mall, Farwaniya Co-op, Kuwait International Airport, Hawally and Rawda Co-op, Mishref Co-op, Baitak Tower, Marina Mall, 360 Mall, Saad Al-Abdullah Co-op, Sahara Center, Adan Co-op, and The Avenues (Phase 4). Customers can also order it through Zain’s official website at kw.zain.com.
This calendar is more than a collection of dates and symbols; it is a testament to the enduring bond between Kuwait and Palestine. Each symbol represents not only an aspect of Palestinian culture but also the strength and resilience of its people. Zain proudly stands with Palestine, echoing Kuwait’s longstanding commitment to justice and peace. These symbols serve not only as cultural markers but also as powerful reminders of a cause that continues to inspire and unite us all.
