In a grand ceremony, Bhavans SIS Cambridge, Kuwait, celebrated its commitment to true leadership with the Investiture Ceremony 2024. The event, themed ‘visionary leadership’, connected the enduring legacies of leaders of the past with the aspirations of present and future leaders.
Distinguished consultant for schools and educator, Graeme Garrett, graced the occasion as the chief guest alongside the Public Relations Officer Dr Salah Ali Judyan Al-Beghaili, Director SIS, Ahmed Ali Judyan Al-Beghaili, Principal of Indian Educational School (IES), Kuwait, Anand Victor, Academic Coordinator, Bhavans Kuwait, Santosh, Vice Principal senior wing IES, Meenakshi Nayyar, Headmistress IES, Muneera Mammikutty, Principal SIS, Mahesh Iyer, Senior Vice Principal SIS, Binoy Mathew, Vice Principal SIS for CBSE, Albin Daisy, Vice Principal SIS for Cambridge, Bhavitha Bright, Administrative Manager, Bhavans Kuwait, Amira Bendari, Head of Physical Education Department, Dr Murugayyan, Primary Coordinator SIS for CBSE, Thushara, and Administrative Staff, Joseph.
A reverential salute and stately march past by the newly-elected Student Council honored the dignitaries before escorting them to the auditorium adorned with hand-painted portraits of visionaries, world leaders, and the student leaders.
The event commenced with the recitation of a few verses from the holy Quran followed by the singing of the Kuwait National Anthem. As tribute to the leadership of the State of Kuwait, life-sized hand-painted portraits of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah were ceremoniously unveiled.
The highlight of the occasion was the installation of the new student council. Decorated with the insignia of their new roles at the esteemed hands of the chief guest, the public relations officer, and the senior leadership team of both schools, the new council was sworn into office with the oath of allegiance led by the Principal of Indian Educational School Anand Victor.
Shiham Ali Khan, newly-elected Student Council president, delivered the acceptance speech, thanking the school for giving him and other students the opportunity to take up leadership roles and hone their leadership skills. The ceremony culminated with a gracious thanksgiving speech delivered by the sports captain Ahmed Nasser, and the vote of thanks by the students of AS Level, bringing the event to a fitting close.
