The Karnataka Muslim Welfare Association (KMWA) hosted a successful Kannadiga get-together, titled ‘Sarva Janangada Shantiya Thota’ (The garden of peace for all people), in celebration of Karnataka Rajyotsava 2024, on December 26, 2024, at ICSK (Senior) in Salmiya. The event presided over by Jameel Ahmed, President of KMWA, aimed to foster peace and unity among diverse communities.
The program began at 7.45pm. It was attended by a distinguished group of guests and community members. Convenor Ameeruddin Amir welcomed the esteemed guests and presented a video showcasing KMWA’s mission and activities. The guests were then invited to the stage, where several prominent figures from the community shared their thoughts. The guests of honor, recognized for their contributions to the society, delivered brief yet inspiring speeches, each lasting two minutes:
• Dr Diwakar Chaluvaiah, ex-president of IDF
• Dr Surendra Naik, president of GSB Sabha Kuwait
• Ramesh Kediyoor, founder president and convenor of Mogaveera Association Kuwait & Ex-President of Tulu Koota Kuwait
• Sandeep Chabba, ex-vice president, Kuwait Kannada Koota
• Rajesh Kunder, of Billava Sangha Kuwait
• Yusuf Rasheed, President of KKMA – Karnataka Branch
• Jagadeesha Shanbough, GS, Tulu Koota Kuwait
BS Sharafuddin delivered the keynote speech on the theme ‘Sarva Janangada Shantiya Thota’, emphasizing the significance of peaceful coexistence and religious harmony for the development of individuals and society. His presentation also highlighted the various dialects of Kannada spoken across different regions of Karnataka. After concluding his talk, he conveyed a heartfelt condolence message for the late Dr Manmohan Singh, the beloved former Prime Minister of India, acknowledging his tremendous contributions.
The evening’s program also featured a fun and interactive Kahoot quiz, led by Br Fahimuddin Sharief, with five thought-provoking questions that energized the attendees and sparked lively discussions. Atheeq Bayezeed delivered a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all attendees, guests of honor, the speaker, and KMWA office-bearers Imam Baksh, Ameeruddin Amir, Irshad Kudroli, Tanveer, Fahim Sharief, Jafar Sadiq, Hameedullah, Shakeel Ahmed, Syed Akhil, Shami, and Mushtaq Ahmed for their support and participation in making the event memorable.
The evening commenced with a recitation of the holy Quran by Irshad Kudroli. Participants left the event with a renewed sense of unity and a deeper appreciation for peace and harmony among all people.
