KUWAIT: The Kuwait Meteorological Department announced on Saturday that the country is experiencing the influence of a high-pressure system associated with a cold air mass coming from Eastern Europe, leading to cool weather during the day and very cold weather at night, with the possibility of frost formation in agricultural and desert areas.
The Acting Director of the Department Dirar Al-Ali, explained to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the winds are expected to be northwesterly to variable in direction, light to moderate in speed, with occasional gusts that will enhance the feeling of cold, especially during the night.
Al-Ali stated that the weather on Sunday will be cool with gradually increasing cloud cover. Winds will be variable in direction to northwesterly, with speeds between eight and 30 kilometers per hour, and maximum temperatures are expected to range between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius. The sea conditions will be light to moderate with waves between one and three feet.
He added that at night, the weather will be cold to very cold with partly to mostly cloudy skies and a chance of scattered light rain. Winds will be variable to southeasterly, with speeds ranging from eight to 28 kilometers per hour, and minimum temperatures are expected between six and eight degrees Celsius. The sea will remain light to moderate with waves between one and three feet.
For Monday, Al-Ali indicated that the weather will be cool with partly to mostly cloudy skies, with a chance of scattered rain. Winds will be southeasterly to variable, with speeds between 10 and 35 kilometers per hour, and maximum temperatures expected to range between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius. Sea conditions will be light to moderate with waves between one and four feet.
At night, the weather will remain cold with scattered rain, which could occasionally be accompanied by thunderstorms. Winds will be southeasterly to variable, with speeds between 10 and 40 kilometers per hour. The minimum temperatures will be between 11 and 13 degrees Celsius, with sea conditions being light to moderate with waves rising occasionally between two and six feet.
