DOHA: The Kuwait weightlifting team won a number of medals on Saturday at the Arab Weightlifting Championship for men and women in the Qatari capital Doha. Weightlifter Maryam Dhiab won three gold medals in the young women (cubs) category for body weight (64 kilograms), where the player lifted (snatch) 60 kilograms and (nitre) 60 kilograms. Maryam Bujbara came in sixth place in the adult category for body weight (64 kilograms), as the player lifted (snatch) 43 kilograms and (nitre) 50 kilograms.

Hanan Al-Amir came in fourth place in the adult category for body weight (71 kilograms), as the player carried 65 kilograms in the (snatch) lift and 75 kilograms in the (nitre) lift. Essa Shaher won three bronze medals in the youth (cubs) category for body weight (73 kilograms), as the player carried 70 kilograms in the (snatch) lift and 80 kilograms in the (netter) lift. While the player Mohammed Abdul Rida came in fourth place in the men’s category for body weight (73 kilograms), as the player lifted 100 kilograms in the (snatch) lift and 136 kilograms in the (nitre) lift. The Arab Weightlifting Championship for men and women started Friday, in the Qatari capital Doha and will continue until December 31.
