Minors authority raises children’s eco-awareness

KUWAIT: As part of efforts to enhance its recreational and educational activities, the Public Authority for Minors Affairs took a group of children under its care on a special visit to an indoor zoo at The Avenues mall. The visit aimed to introduce them to the world of animals and raise their awareness of the importance of preserving the natural environment.

Dalal Al-Nouri, Director General of the Public Authority for Minors Affairs, emphasized in a press statement the authority’s dedication to providing enjoyable educational experiences for the children under its care. She also highlighted the authority’s commitment to instilling environmental values in the children through such visits.

The visit was conducted under the supervision of the authority’s staff and witnessed significant engagement from the children. It included guided tours led by specialists, introducing the children to various animal species, their natural habitats, and behaviors, as well as information on methods to protect endangered animals.

Children of all ages were captivated by the variety of animals, while the animals responded with playful movements and jumps within their enclosures, as though attempting to engage with them.

The kids expressed their excitement with joyful cheers as they touched the animals, exploring their textures and forming a direct connection. Participants enthusiastically engaged in hands-on activities, such as feeding the animals with guidance from experts and learning about biodiversity and the responsibility of future generations to protect the planet.
