KUWAIT: Acting Director General Public Authority for Sports (PAS) Bashar Abdullah confirmed the readiness of Jaber International Stadium and Jaber Al Mubarak Stadium for the “Khaleeji Zain 26” tournament hosted by Kuwait from December 21 to January 3.
Bashar said in a press statement on the sidelines of the inauguration of Jaber Al Mubarak Stadium at Al-Sulaibikhat Club in the presence of Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi: “The stadiums are ready to host Khaleeji Zain 26 competitions.” After the official opening of Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah Stadium, we thank all the workers who continued to work with all their energies around the clock to complete this sports edifice and show it in the most beautiful image possible, after they beat the time to be ready for this tournament which is dear to our hearts.”
Bashar stated that Kuwait is fully prepared in all respects for the important sporting event that brings brothers together, adding: “This was made possible thanks to the directives of the supreme leadership, and the daily follow-up of every detail large and small from Minister Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi to check on the latest preparations.”
He pointed out that Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah Stadium is the first stadium in Kuwait without a track, with a capacity of 15,000 spectators, while the soon-to-be-opened Fahaheel Club Stadium will also be without a track.
The opening of Jaber Al Mubarak Stadium was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee, President of the Football Association Sheikh Ahmed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee Mubarak Abdulaziz, and Tournament Director Meshal Al Subaie.
For her part, Sara Fulaiteh, Deputy Director of the Facilities, Maintenance and Facilities sector, confirmed that all facilities are equipped with the latest systems and technologies that will be operated by technical crews certified by international companies in cooperation with local companies and cadres.
Fulaiteh, who heads the Facilities and Facilities Committee of the Organizing Committee of the tournament, said that the training fields are ready to receive the participating Gulf teams and referees to complete their training before the start of the major Gulf sporting event.
