TUNIS: The Kuwaiti girls’ rhythmic gymnastics team imposed its presence in the Mediterranean Federation Championship currently being held in Tunisia, after 4 players qualified for the final round of this competition.
Raya Al-Qassar advanced to the final of the ribbon performance competition after finishing third in her group, while Sarah Al-Bannai qualified for the final of the hoop performance competition after also finishing third, Layan Behbehani booked the final card in the mace competition after grabbing fourth place, Nabila Al-Kharafi advanced to the final after excelling in the ball performance group, while Amina Al-Kandari performed beautifully in the hoop competition, but her fourth place did not help her qualify.
President of the Arab and Kuwaiti Gymnastics Federations Fahad Al-Soula praised the results achieved by the team’s players in this important forum, which witnesses the participation of elite players from European countries such as Spain, Portugal and Greece, in addition to distinguished players from several Arab countries, hoping that the efforts of the team’s heroines will be crowned with a new achievement for Kuwaiti gymnastics.
On the other hand, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Tunisia, Mansour Al-Omar, was keen to visit the team’s delegation at the competitions venue, where Al-Omar was keen to support the “Blue Gymnastics” players and motivate them to achieve advanced positions and raise the flag of Kuwait in this international forum.
