Info minister: Media scene witnessing rapid developments

ABU DHABI: Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi affirmed that the current media scene is witnessing rapid developments that requires constant follow-up. This came during Al-Mutairi’s speech at the 102nd meeting of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media and the 20th regular session of the Executive Office of the Arab Information Ministers Council held in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

He added that it is required to translate visions and strategies into a clear approach to prepare and develop media institutions to play a more effective role in achieving growth and prosperity for Arab nations. The Permanent Committee for Arab Media also discussed updates on the Arab Media Action Plan abroad, the Arab Electronic Media Committee website and the role of Arab media in addressing terrorism.

The meeting also examined the Arab Media Map for Sustainable Development 2030, measures to advance negotiations with international media companies, ongoing efforts to promote environmental media literacy, and steps to enhance professional excellence and develop the skills of Arab media professionals. — KUNA
