KUWAIT: The Loyac Academy of Performing Arts - LAPA - organized the “Long Live the Olive Tree” festival for the second consecutive year. The festival, which launched last year on International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, contributes to raising awareness of the Palestinian issue and increasing its global supporters.
The initiative aims to provide basic food needs for those in need in the Gaza Strip amid the difficult conditions they suffer due to the blockade and starvation, in collaboration with the Arab Organization for the Protection of Nature in Jordan.
The festival featured segments and performances that embody the spirit of solidarity. They included an olive tree exhibition that tells the story of seven camps that were bombed by the Zionist army. Visitors could also browse an art exhibition titled “In the Presence of Handala”, featuring artists from all ages, including children.
A musical segment was presented by the LAPA children’s choir, who performed songs that expressed solidarity with Palestine. The evening concluded with a performance titled “Where Words Die,” which documented the assassination of more than 188 journalists in the Gaza Strip.
