Kuwait squash team participates in REDtone junior open

KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuwait squash team participated in the (REDtone Kuala Lumpur) International Open Championship in its 16th edition for juniors being held in Malaysia until December 8, with 24 countries participating in the tournament, which is the second largest tournament in the world after the US Open for juniors.

The head of the Kuwaiti delegation, Hamad Al-Dughaim, confirmed in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the players are ready to play the tournament matches under the supervision of coaches Ahmed Abdel-Aal and Ahmed Al-Sayed, praising the good reception and hospitality they received from the organizers.

Al-Dughaim said that the team is participating with 6 players in three categories, namely (U-11) with three players, namely Saqr Al-Kandari, Khalid Al-Madhen and Abdulaziz Al-Mesbahi, (U-13) with two players, namely Salman Al-Saleh and Abdullah Maayouf, and (U-15) with one player, namely Isa Al-Najada.

He added that the matches are ongoing and we seek to obtain the best results in this international tournament “which will lead to gaining great experiences for players at these age stages as the level of participants in terms of number and technical level is very good.”

He also expressed his deep gratitude and great appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Kuala Lumpur, which had a role in following up and facilitating all matters related to the delegation’s visit, praising the distinguished role played by the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Malaysia Rashid Al-Saleh in directly supervising the provision of the necessary support along with Consul Marzouq Al-Enezi, who had a prominent presence in facilitating procedures and ensuring the smooth flow of matters.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Saleh expressed in a similar statement to KUNA his wishes of success for the Kuwaiti team participating in the tournament, which brings together an elite group of players around the world, saying that “this participation represents a unique opportunity for our youth to shine and highlight their athletic abilities and raise the flag of Kuwait high in such a prestigious sports forum.” He stressed his confidence in “our sons doing their best to achieve the best results and contribute to enhancing Kuwait’s position on the international sports scene.” He praised the efforts made by the technical and administrative staff of the team, praising the efforts made by the technical and administrative staff of the team. 1,043 players from 24 countries are competing in the REDtone Kuala Lumpur International Tournament, including the teams of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, China, Egypt and the Netherlands. — KUNA
