Deputy Chief of Staff reviews Amiri Guard readiness for summit

KUWAIT: Deputy Chief of Staff of the Kuwait Army Maj Gen Sheikh Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah conducted a field visit on Thursday to the Amiri Guard to assess their preparations and arrangements for securing the upcoming 45th Gulf Cooperation Council Summit.

In a statement issued by the General Staff of the Kuwait Army, Maj Gen Sheikh Sabah commended the efforts of the Amiri Guard members and expressed his deep appreciation for their dedication to ensuring the safety and security of the summit. He emphasized the critical role of the Amiri Guard in maintaining vigilance and teamwork to guarantee the event’s success.

He highlighted that the Amiri Guard serves as the cornerstone of Kuwait’s security framework, tasked with protecting HH the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, as well as HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

During his visit, Sheikh Sabah was briefed on the comprehensive security plans and responsibilities assigned to the Amiri Guard to ensure the smooth conduct of the summit. The plans focus on maintaining the highest levels of security and coordination with other military and security entities involved, aiming for seamless integration between all agencies tasked with safeguarding the event.

The Deputy Chief of Staff also toured the units dedicated to summit security, reviewing their arrangements and preparations. Additionally, he observed a field demonstration showcasing the Amiri Guard’s operational readiness and capabilities in action. — KUNA
