KUWAIT: Red Bull Flying Day is back in Kuwait and ready to let participants spread their wings. After more than a decade-long hiatus, the tournament returns to challenge Kuwaiti teams of all shapes and sizes to take to the skies in their handcrafted flying contraptions. On April 18, Red Bull Flying Day will challenge the brave and brainy to design and build human-powered flying machines, then launch them off an 8.5m flight deck over water at Marina Beach. The event will kick off at 1 pm and teams of 4-5 participants will defy the laws of gravity to take home the win.
To apply, aspiring participants, who must be 18 years old and above, can simply click on the link below to start the application process. Each team must then upload their unique design at the end of the application process to share their concept. The entries with the most amusing designs and highest likelihood of flying will earn their space on the runway and receive a participation kit. After the selected teams receive their exclusive Red Bull Flying Day pilot’s license along with their participation kit, it is time to start taking their design from blueprint to reality.
Invented in Vienna, Austria in 1992 and named after the German word “flugtag” or “flying day”, Red Bull Flying Day has had 32 years of event history, with 181 events taking place across 50+ countries and over 100 cities. To date, the event has garnered more than 9 million spectators and counting; Kuwait alone has seen more than 20,000 spectators show up at every local event across the years, and the 2024 edition is expecting a similar turn-up. This event would not have been possible without our partner Red Bull MOBILE by Zain. Register before January 12 through the following link: redbull.com/flyingdaykuwait
