Olympic Council of Asia’s headquarters to remain in Kuwait

KUWAIT: Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, and the Olympic Council of Asia, represented by First Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia Timothy Fok, in the presence of Second Vice President Dr Thani Al-Kuwari and Olympic Council of Asia Director Captain Hussein Al-Musallam, signed the renewal of the agreement to host the Olympic Council of Asia’s headquarters in Kuwait. Dr Thani Al-Kuwari expressed his pleasure to sign this agreement with Kuwait for a period of five years, which is automatically renewable. “The headquarters was in India, and since 1982 it was moved to Kuwait,” he said.

Dr Al-Kuwari thanked everyone who contributed to the renewal of this agreement and the contributions of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who supports the Asian sports movement, and Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, as well as the Kuwaiti government and the Kuwaiti people, for their confidence in the Council, which will have a positive impact on the sports movement on the Asian continent.

For his part, the Director of the Olympic Council of Asia, Captain Hussein Al-Musallam, on behalf of the sports movement in the Asian continent extended thanks and gratitude to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the Kuwaiti government for renewing the agreement.
