KUWAIT: Burgan Bank hosted a workshop on the detection and prevention of prostate cancer in collaboration with Kuwait Hospital, as part of its continued efforts to raise health awareness among its staff. The workshop, delivered by Urology Consultant Dr Faisal Al-Hajeri at Burgan head office, is one of several activities the bank has planned for the Prostate Cancer Awareness Month of November, as part of Burgan’s comprehensive social responsibility program. Hosting the workshop is also driven by the bank’s strategy to instill the principles of sustainability into its operations and enhance the work environment by monitoring employee affairs, particularly those concerning health and well-being.

"We are delighted to renew our collaboration with Kuwait Hospital, one of the country’s most esteemed medical institutions, in an effort to educate our valued employees about the best preventative measures against prostate cancer,” said Naqeeb Amin, General Manager for Human Resources and Development at Burgan Bank. "Reaching out to medical professionals in a timely manner is essential to the success of the treatment process, especially with diseases such as cancer. That’s why it is critical for our employees to remain aware of all different types of cancer symptoms.”

He added that cancer is one of the most mentally, physically, and financially taxing diseases, not only for individuals but also their families. Amin noted that health awareness workshops are part of Burgan’s commitment to contributing positively to its employees’ wellness and the overall quality of life of their families. During the workshop, Dr Al-Hajeri shared valuable information with the participants on the symptoms and treatments of the disease as well as the most recommended means of prevention. The presentation was followed by an engaging and informative Q&A session.
