KUWAIT: The Bangladesh Military Contingent (BMC) in Kuwait celebrated Bangladesh Armed Forces Day on November 21, 2024, with a ceremony attended by senior officials from both Kuwait and Bangladesh. Brigadier General Dhari Faleh Al-Hajeri, Director General of the Mobilization Directorate at the Kuwait Armed Forces, joined senior officers of the Kuwait Armed Forces, defense attachés from various countries, Bangladesh Embassy officials and members of the Bangladeshi community in Kuwait for the event.

During the ceremony, Brigadier General Mohammad Shahidul Abedin, Commander of the BMC, reflected on the history of the contingent and the significant contributions of Bangladeshi troops in Kuwait since 1991. Brigadier General Al-Hajeri praised the dedication, courage, and service of the Bangladeshi forces, expressing his hopes for even closer military cooperation between the two nations in the future.

Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Major General Syed Tareq Hussain, underscored the importance of Armed Forces Day, highlighting the long-standing friendship between Bangladesh and Kuwait. The event also featured a short video showcasing the history of the Bangladesh Armed Forces and the operational activities of the BMC in Kuwait. Additionally, a photo exhibition highlighted the growth and development of the Bangladesh Armed Forces since 1971 and the evolution of the BMC since its establishment in 1991.
