KUWAIT: The Premier Padel Kuwait P1 tournament, sponsored by BNK Holding, continues as the competition heats up. Padel players are trying to secure top spots in the upcoming rounds, aiming for the prestigious title and a share of the tournament’s impressive €470,000 prize pool. Padel is a game of excitement and quickness, and it is picking up popularity in various parts of the world, including Kuwait. BNK Holding has seized the moment as it realized the potential of such a socially accepted game and organized the first “Kuwait City Premier Padel P1 Tournament.” The event attracted a large number of elite world players who are seeking to win prize money and more trophies. The results of Thursday’s tournament were as follows:
In the men’s draw, P Cardona and F Mavarro defeated J Garcia and J Barahona in three sets (4-6, 6-1, 63), and A Chingotto and A Galan beat J Diestro and C Gutierrez in two sets (6-3, 7-6). Also, I Jofre and J Tello secured their place after defeating J Gonzalez and E Alonso in three sets: 4-6, 7-5, 6-3. F Stupaczuk and M Yangusas overpowered L Campagnolo and J Leal in three sets, 6-7, 6-1, 6-4.
In the women’s draw, the team of T Icardo Alcorisa and C Jensen Sirvent defeated A Blanco Rojo and S Ruize Soto 6-1, 6-1, while B Caldera Sanchez and L Rufo Ortiz triumphed over L Sainz Pelegri and P Liaguno Zielinski 6-2, 6-4. Also, G Triay Pons and C Fernandez Sanchez beat M Merino Saez and E Carnicero Marin 6-3, 6-2. In other matches, A Salazar Bengoechea and J Castello Lopez defeated L Martinez Gomez and C Mesa Salazar 6-2, 7-5; M Ortega Callego and S Araujo beat M Barrera De La Fuente and M Caparros Maldonado 6-2, 6-2; A Sanchez Fallada and P Josemeria Martin dominated R Eugenio and M Fassio Goyeneche 6-1, 7-6, while V Virseda and A Osoro Ulrich crushed M Talavan and J Bidahorria 6-2, 6-0.
Under the leadership of BNK Holding Chairman Bader Nasser Al-Kharafi, the Premier Padel Kuwait P1 tournament has drawn over 150 top-ranked global players to Kuwait, marking the country’s significant entry into the Premier Padel circuit. The tournament (scheduled from November 9-17) is taking place at The Arena, 360 Mall, and the Rafa Nadal Academy.
